Just spoke to my ips "assistant" I cannot change my payments ( so why did she want proof that my income isnt the same as my proposal sets out. )I then said I was willin to sell my car and add the finance payments to iva to boost the payments but was told im not allowed without a variation meetin ( I want to give more money for gods sake!!)I then asked if i could speak to my ip personally and her words were "absolutely not thats what im for , he doesnt have time to take calls!!" I really dont understand whats going on im trying to pay my debts but its been made too hard . I was moved to Accuma from Iva solutions without my knowledge and I am disgusted by the service I am receiving!!

Hi Becky, that's terrible - you are entitled to speak to your IP! You may have posted this on another thread, but have you put any of this in writing to your IP? If not maybe you could try that, and I would also make an official complaint about the attitude of your case manager.

I have sent my new proposal to both my IP and his assistant but Ive had no response from him and i have had to chase her for answers. But might as well just give up now because even though I feel my new proposal is sound and I'm tryin to introduce my car finance payments earlier than agreed she just isnt willing to help me at all. I asked her what to do and she went silent then said Id signed it and was stuck with it.

She sounds like a real charmer! I really don't know what to suggest other than to make a nuisance of yourself by keep ringing her until she puts you through. Hopefully someone else will have a more constructive idea shortly! I can understand you being angry as you are trying to pay more money - it's not as if you are trying to get a reduction. Good luck x

I wouldn't have thought that you would need a variation meeting to pay more!!! Hopefully Melanie or one of the other experts will be able to advise further about that. Also maybe someone from Accuma would be able to comment on the level of 'service' you are receiving...

well i've just discussed it with my parents (theyre very understanding) and Ive decided If they cant help me with reducing my payments I'll leep the car finance payments and put them towards the iva payments i make now because when it comes to review time they'll be able to see that even with that towards my original payments I am still no better off financially

Hi Becky,

Sorry to hear about the service that you have been receiving. At IVA.com you can post reviews of IVA firms and IPs to help others to choose the correct firms for them. If you could post a review of your experiences here that would be great.

Good luck with sorting out your payments.

Kind regards,
Terry

Hi Becky

Your IP should take your call and I am sure that he would if he knew you were trying to get hold of him. Why not try and find an e-mail address for him and put a delivery and read receipt on it so that you know he has read the note.

Could you please summarise the original terms of your arrangement, together with those you are proposing, so that we can assess what it is you are trying to achieve. You do not need to have a variation meeting if you are going to increase your IVA payments.

OK my original arrangement was £342 for 30 months and £412 for 30 months (original debt £46000) My new proposal is £235 for 12 months then £305 for 42 months taking my iva to 6 years I have already paid in £4586.25.Today Iproposed that I introduce the extra £70 a month earlir than in 12 months as originally set out but I was told it wasnt possible and i would need a variation meeting. I asked about maybe getting the variation meeting after all then as the above proposal has been dismissed by my ips assistant. Anyway after I calmed down I rang back and managed to speak to someone else who confirmed that all my paperwork had been received ( 5 mins earlier i had been told nothing had been received!!) He said he would make sure that my ips assistant showed my proposal to her supervisor (not my ip as he in the top of the chain and it is her supervisor who decides)and I should call back tomorrow for an answer.

I really think that wherever possible people should be referred to local IP's, or at least one within reasonable travelling distance. Mine was over 200 miles away, meaning a 400 mile round trip - not an option!

Becky

I can't get those numbers to equate - under the original proposal you were paying in £22,620 and under the later one £20,216. How does that mean you will be paying in more money? If the dividend is lower than than originally pledged, and you are looking to extend the arrangement, this must be done by formal variation - but I would have thought that you stand a good chance of acceptance if you can ever get to the IP!
