We had a call with Melanie. Did you not enquire what it was for?

I think on the call tomorrow they will go through checking the figures are correct, finding out why, when and how the debt occurred and just talkingyou through the process. It is a good opportunity to ask questions no matter how silly you may think they are. Make sure you are totally happy. If when you put the phone down you need to ask something you forgot then ring them back and ask them. 5/6 years is a long time - make sure you are totally happy (repeating myself but you get the drift makes sure you are happy) 3rd time lucky lol!

I think then they go and write your proposal then you sign - if happy and then your meeting.

I'm sur if I'm wrong n expert will correct me!

Alot of it is a blur to me to be honest but I know I am happy with the proposal now......

I know exactly what you mean.

I am keeping myself busy and have very dangerously detached myself from the whole thing for a few dys to try and regain some kind of 'control' of my feelings. I also have loads of confidence in my IP and her team (I know your all reading this lol)......

[:D]

I hope you will be okay. There are loads of people on here who have been or are currently in your mind set.

Your in good company. XX

It is important to have detailed discussions with the insolvency practitioner acting for you, or at least a very experienced member of their staff, prior to entering into an IVA.

In my practice, either I or my fellow IP, will always conduct this meeting, and I am sure that both Philip and Alan who also regularly post on the forum would do the same in their practices. So if you are having a meeting with a "drafter", do make sure that this is going to be followed up by a proper meeting with the IP personally are some stage of the process.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner
