Gavin, to be blunt I think you would be absolutely crazy to go along with this. At best it's dodgy, at worst it's illegal - fraud springs to mind.

Borrowing money from an unregulated lender is asking for trouble.

Wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot barge pole, Gavin if you are struggling please seek expert advice, I know it's easy for us to say that as we're not sitting where you are but Foggy does have a very valid point if you can't afford the £700+ to go bankrupt where on earth are you going to get over £2800? Please once again don't be sucked into something you may find very difficult to get out of and seek some expert advice.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

I've got one word to say about this entire thread - unbelievable! Gavin - this company ought to be reported to the OFT as I doubt they have a Consumer Credit License, and if they do they are clearly acting in contravention of that. And if they don't have one, they should not be peddling such an outrageous service to you in any case.

I also find it dreadful that the only advice the CAB gave you was to wait until one of your creditors petition. Was this definately what was said - at which CAB office?
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

For goodness sake, sorry to sound harsh, but you are not new to this forum... you must have read numerous posts about people in difficulty and know there are alternative answers out there. I really cannot believe you are considering this offer. If push comes to shove, you could miss your payments either to IVA or creditors and save the £750 fee for bankruptcy... but this offer is not only ludicrous but in my opinon absolutely illegal. Your repayment to such a person might not only be financial, but when you can't aford to repay him, we could find you slumped in dark alley somewhere. I'm sure you know in your heart you need to cut this guy loose.

Gavin please think again - stop paying any creditors and save save save for those fees, you'll be more in debt post bankruptcy than before this way.

In my local paper this week the OR jailed a bankrupt man who lied to the Official Receiver about his assets, he was jailed for eight months. Totally different situation I admit for yourself but do be careful is all I'm saying. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Even more reason not to touch this at all. You are just laying yourself wide open to trouble.

Gavin, while I can understand you are desperate I really cannot understand why you are even considering getting involved with someone like this! Surely common sense must tell you there's something not right?

The idea of BR is to have a fresh start, not to land yourself with more debts and, even worse, debts to an unlicensed lender!

I think it is becoming clear that irrespective of the advice people are giving Gavin on here, he is going to go ahead regardless, I think it is pointless continuing to argue the point and Gavin, I wish you all the best.
