Wonder if any body could help, I started my IVA in June 2005 with Accuma 2008 it went over GT. Now in 2009 my husband was dignosed with Cancer spent 10 months in hospital 35 miles away he is still recovering due to the extent of the operations he has had because of this he can't work any more IVA informed payments for the last 6 months of IVA reduced. I also was made redundant. The IVA was due to finish in 2010 the last payment was June 2010 the last time I spoke to anybody at GT was May 2010 that was regarding not being able to remortgage house due to the above. Now on friday 25th May 2012 we recieve a letter from GT saying we where still owing I contacted them asking all sorts of questions why after two years with no contact thinking it was over. they are ringing on Monday to ask about income and out goings I already have done this for 5 years?

It is unbelievable to read that some two years after your last payment that the arrears are only just getting addressed, and that you have not spoken to anyone in your IP firm for over two years. Are these dates correct?

I suggest that you call Karol at their Customer Services Department to get an understanding of what has been happening on your case over this period. Have you been receiving annual reports - as I cannot understand how this can have drifted so long without the statutory process being followed - and if it has, what has actually been reported to creditors.

Hi Marie - what a long time with no contact! If it had been me I would have been on the phone constantly asking for the completion letter!

When you speak to GT maybe suggest that due to your husbands ill health etc, a variation meeting is held to ask creditors to accept payments made be sufficient to end the IVA.

Thank you all for your advice, yes the dates are right Iva taken out June 2005 due to end June 2010 last contact was may 2010. During that month there where a few calls the last one saying we will be in touch. Due to my husband circumstances he was still in and out of hospital all through 2009/2010 we still have to go every six weeks as anybody now's it just takes over your life weeks goes into months and time pass bye so fast. He is getting his self all worked up worried about losing the house Ihave to put the brave face on and say no everything will come right you have to. So we will see what they have to say tomorrow and then I suppose it will be more weeks of waiting. I think at
the moment the total paid to the Iva as off 2010 is 48,500.

Then your IP firm has to deal with this issue, as your IVA is non-compliant if no annual reports have been filed, and this seems very strange to me. Best left with them now, as they will be the only ones able to give any explanations about this matter.

Thank you all for your kind words, Had a call from GT yesterday they are going to put a propsal forward to end the IVA due to John illness plus its been 7 years since the start of the IVA. Gave GT our income and expendeture just getting together copies of everything to send to them, I have also been in touch with my husband consultant to see if he will do a letter to just confirm everything about his Cancer also going through things we have from the hospital just to see if it confirms anything. You see when your ill you don't get told in writing
