I found this forum as I was going through the process of putting together the proposal for an IVA. I was really unsure whether it was doing the right thing but after finding the forum I realised I was doing the right thing and so glad now that I have my IVA approved.

Thank you everyone

I found the forum when trying to find out things about Mercers - and I have been addicted ever since!

I have had the priviledge of meeting Melanie and Andy, and have made some very good friends off the forum as well.

Hi all, I'll add my appreciation to all of the above, I'm still a way off getting my IVA approved, but the posts here and the advice from the professionals (Melanie) as well as the forum experts (Jan and Paul) has been a great help in dealing with the feelings of dreed I have everytime the phone rings.
I jus wish more could be done in this country to stop the harassment that the creditors give when you have informed them of your IVA application.

They just want their money back, and they will employ all sorts of bullying tactics to achieve that.

Don't forget that there are a lot of people out there who have never heard of us and will give in to the bullies.

As long as that happens, they will continue to hound us.

Very true.... Thanks to 'Choose to Refuse' my calls have slowed down.

I would think that, like myself, none of us have an issue with paying them their money back, just in a controlled and affordable way. (btw my last MBNA statement the interest rate was 2.529% roughly 35% APR!!! who said store cards were the most expensive!)

I found the forum once my proposal had been drawn up and my creditors' meeting was arranged, so it was a bit too late for me. To be fair at the time the forum was nowhere near as big as it is now, but I think I would have done things differently if I had found it in time.
