I think the biggest problem is we all know my replacement, he has been sniffing round my dept since last september saying he wanted my bakery, but when the guys were training before we opened our store this particular manager wouldn't let my guys in to learn about the bakery or train, he was rude and aggressive towards them, so they have a natural dislike to him.

But on a positive i leave behind a strong team, and my deputy is a strong leader and he will keep them all together.

Having a few beers with the guys tomorrow, so hopefully calm some of there fears.

Good luck antm. It's probably worth the move if you want to move up the ladder. I'm a little too old now to think of promotion (not that there is any in the Civil Service at present!) but when I was younger I would change sections every 12 - 18 months to gain experience and feathers in my cap. I'm sure your old deputy will stand up for the team. And well done on the pay increase (especially as you are almost through your IVA).

Got to work today and my store manager announced to the management team i was going, i turned round and rightly said i hadn't accepted yet, it 90% job done but not quite, my PTM was shocked and called me aside, she said she had accepted on my behave as the boss had told her i was def going, i told her no money has been confirmed so not until then. She rushed off phoned a few people came back to me and said i got ur money, confirmation in the post today.

So back to my bakery, my deputy has a face on him like a wet weekend (which it is funnily enough) i asked him whats up, He has been told he won't get my job so he is gutted and unsure of his future! made for an interesting coffee chat.
