Well it's finally happened, all the threats of redundancy from hubby's firm and he's safe.

I'm on holiday this week, called in to cover a lesson today as colleague sadly lost her dog and couldn't face the lesson...so I covered despite being on holiday.

Whilst there summoned to main campus, redundancy meeting at 1:30pm tomorrow. Some already know they're going, others are losing so many hours per department and they've been given time to come up with a plan of how that can happen or the management will decide.

Worst case scenario I'm redundant, best case I lose hours. As you all appreciate within an IVA I can't afford to do either. Already contacted my IP and I'll do so again tomorrow. I do have a variation meeting happening Tuesday to decide about the equity etc., oh my goodness and the day started off so well with a lottery win of £10!

Julie I may need your assistance and I have passed on your details to the NVQ Assessors and they may contact you as they have to lose a person.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Blimey Lesley - what a day!!! Hope everything works out ok for you. I imagine if you were to be made redundant you could ask for your IVA to be completed early with payments made to date. Fingers crossed x

Just caught up with this Lesley - I have everything crossed that tomorrow will be ok. You've come so far and got over so many hurdles and so close to the end.

I'll be thinking of you and we both send virtual hugs!!

Hi Lesley,

Good news on hubby's job and I really hope you have good news tomorrow too.

You know I will help in any way possible, that's what friends are for [:)]. Pass on the job descriptions or my work email to any of your colleagues and even if the current roles we have are not suitable, we are often looking for assessors so can keep their details on file.

I'm keeping everything crossed for you and you know where I am if you need to talk, text or email.

xx

Thank you my forum buddies, bit shocked to be honest, in a way I'm hoping a reduction in hours as in September I go into last year of my degree that they're funding. I have a staff development form that states they will fund it with the condition I stay a member of the IFL for the duration of the course (which I am).

However, a criteria of the course is I need 75 paid teaching hours per academic year. So if I lose the teaching hours totally I can't finish my final year!

I'll update tomorrow, thanks for the virtual best wishes and hugs really does mean a lot x

I'm just hoping I've not spoken too soon for hubby but they're down to two employees now from the original workforce so can't say 100% for him but it's looking ok at the minute x
