Hello, little advice please.
I was in an IVA until last year, I got the completed certificate on the 21st December 2012, and its coming now up to the 6 year end. I have looked at my credit reports from the main companies, and they still are saying that 2 of my creditors are in default, all the other issues have gone off the report and there is nothing else listed, I have not sent the completion certificate to anyone, ( been a bad year and not been able to get to it ). Will the default notice come off at the end of the 6 year ( is later in December this year ) or will I have to do something about it ? also, one of the defaults is dated after the start of my iva ?
Some advice on what to do next would be nice
Many thanks

Defaults will come off at the 6yr anniversary of them ... They should automatically come off in a week or so of them being due.

You need to check the year of the defaults.

All defaults should be dated around the time your iva started.

If you have an incorrect default date it can be amended. You will need to send in a template letter to the creditor requesting that the default date is amended to the correct date of when your iva started.

With us, one of our creditors whacked on a default date of August 2013. That meant if I had not had it changed to the correct default date of 30/04/2008,,, it would have stayed on there for 6 years until 2019!!

Although our iva started on 30/04/2008- we have a couple of defaults that run into june. Apparently this is because creditors are not always entirely sure of the date of the iva arrangement. However I decided to leave them alone & they all should drop off by end of june 2014 ( can't wait!!)

Ooh sorry & I meant to say you would have to send in copies of completion certs (& in my case I sent a copy of final report to prove debt was in iva to counteract any deliberate delaying tactic quibbles from them!!!)
