WHY???

Hi Everyone
Just want to have a little rant.
WHY do things never go right?
Last night our bed broke!
Now don't get me wrong we did see the funny side, but then the realisation hit that we cannot afford a new one. We are three months into our IVA and have already had to use our little bit of contingency for the car which needed repairing in the first month.
We have not had chance to build this back up and to top it all the cars service and MOT are due at the end of May.
I didn't sleep at all last night partly because I thought the bed may collapse fully and partly because of the money issue.
Sorry for ranting so early in the morning but I just needed to get it off my chest before I go to work.

Hi,
I know what you mean everything always happens at once, just try to hang in there and as for the bed could you perhaps sleep with the mattress on the floor until you can afford a new one?

that saying is true.. it doesn't just rain it pours...

just sleep on the mattress on floor.. not to far if you fall out!!!

Speak to your IP! It will be possible to purchase a new bed out of your next IVA payment and then pay the money back by making higher contributions in future - or tagging it onto the end of the arrangement if this is not possible. I suggest that you choose a modest bed and have the details of the cost of this available when you e-mail your IP with your request!

We are sleeping on the mattress on the floor at the moment however things are not as bad as they first seemed. My lovely husband who is a little adverse to DIY has been out today and bought the wood and bits needed to fix the bed and in a few days we will be back in it and sleeping better.
I was thinking earlier how before IVA it would have been so easy to just go out and buy a new one on credit but now we don't have that 'luxury '(and I use the term loosely)it has given me a great deal of satisfaction managing to cope without it.
It just goes to show how we can cope when we have to!

So glad you managed to get the bed sorted, you still have him and thats the important thing, you got each other to get through all this with. I know its hard to adjust to the little black figure in the bank and no chance of adding a few hundred of red on top. Its scary sometimes but you will get there and be happier for it.

As usual you know just the right thing to say.
I was so pleased for you when I heard your news today and I just hope that we will get to where you are someday. It does seem such a long way off as we only make our 3rd payment on Friday, saying that the last three months have flown by.

hubbys complaining about his back.. he thinks it might be the mattress.. hope not as these are really expensive for a decent one!!

he's got man flu at the moment, hoping backs connected to this!! (not in an awful way)

We've got a memory foam mattress topper and it's brilliant. Although I still suffer with my back it has made a big difference.

It's also a dead giveaway as to where the cat's been sleeping - he must have heard us come in on Saturday night and was sitting in the doorway, but when we went in the bedroom there was a very fresh dent in the memory foam!

You could also try a memory foam pillow, I use one just under the small of my back, its great. They cost around a tenner.

Just thought I would let you know that the bed is fixed.
Got home from work yeserday and my wonderful husband had not only fixed the broken bit on the bed but has put it back together better than it was before.
Nothing creaks or wobbles, I am so proud of him!!!
Just goes to show that we don't always need lots of money to get things done and I think he got a great deal of satisfaction out of fixing it himself-I love him to bits for this [:)][:)]

That's the thing about all this my husband hates DIY and will do anything not to do it, so for him to fix the bed and do such a great job is why I am so proud of him and I want everyone to know that!

He is fast asleep at the moment as he has to be up really early for work in the morning.
I must go to bed now too as I have to be up for work, just not as early as him.
