Why is it called a dividend?

Why is our payment creditors in IVA is called divedend?

Hi
I suppose you can equate it to a share dividend,a share of profits,but in the case of an IVA it,s a share of the money paid in to an IVA,less IP expenses

Hi hara,

Its called dividend because its a proportion share in an amount to be distributed. In the case of an IVA its the percentage to be distributed among your creditors.
