My husband has made a call to one debt company, why do you recommend calling several? Surely all they will do is send you the forms to fill in or am I missing something here? Also he hasn't paid his credit card bills for a couple of months and we've switched our phone off to stop the constant ringing of the credit card companies, would you advise to tell them that we are looking at entering into an iva?

Hi again

I just replied to your earlier post - and suggested you read my blog on choosing an advisor. You have to work with the IP and their staff for a long period of time, so it is best to be absolutely sure that you are choosing a company that will act in your interests as well as your creditors. The role of the IP is to be a medium between you and the creditors - and given that you have now stopped making payments I feel that you should do something soon.

Hi donna_g and welcome,

If you already stopped making payments to your creditors you should seek professional advice as soon as possible. Contacting different IVA companies will help you decide which one provides you de service you are looking for and is more suitable for you current situation.

Regards,
Michelle P.

It is never a good idea to not answer creditors calls, tell them you are doing something constructively. Help yourself.

Lenders look at debtors history head to toe and anything that you are not doing might be noted.IVA require commitment so if you have a 'can't be bothered attitude' then what would they think

Please call them and explain. They will be only too happy to hear you..
