Thought i'd get a poll going for a change. I've been called 8 times and texted twice today by Sky Card - i only called them myself yesterday to explain i'm starting an IVA as well! So, what's your record for number of calls in one day from a creditor?

Hi n958g,

Was this 8 answered calls or did the calls persist when you either chose not to answer them or were unable to do so?

Seems very excessive.

I have heard of 27 separate calls in 1 day to home/mobile from one of my clients, however there were 3 different cards with the same company so I suppose that could explain it away a little. Seems a shame that they didn't seem able to cross reference the different accounts to limit the stress.

Regards.

Sounds like Mercers, I must have had 10 messages left from them in 1 day, albeit for 2 cards. Must have told them on at least 6 occasions I was proposing an IVA and they just kept phoning wanting money and threatening a debt collector. Ignored them in the end. Didn't affect the outcome of my IVA at all.

Mine was NROCk, they rang on the hour, EVERY hour, even at weekends, they just said the same thing, that the calls were automated and the only way to stop them was to pay! Once they rang at 9.30pm on a Saturday evening, then the same man rang the following Sunday morning at 8am asking me to make a payment! I just said to him "what do you think has changed from last night? I have not won the lottery"

How awful! I think the most I used to get was about half a dozen a day, I didn't answer them and that was only for three or four months until my IVA was approved.

I wonder if they won their case? I do hope so.

We have 1571 answerphone which is now full and i will not delete the messages as that will stop further ones being left.
Mercers seem to be the worse, so now i am ignoring them. Luckliy all my creditors have an old work number which is unobtainable.
Have had a text and about 4 calls on my mobile from Mercers today but ignored as had it on silent.
Had a bit of an argument whith a very nice lady from MBNA tonight [}:)]who politely told me she WOULD be making the decision on my IVA.
and asked me if i had the money for the IVA then why cannot i pay them something now[:o)]. I actually threatened her with BR advising they would get Jack s*** , at that point i hung up.
Was not in the mood.
Such is life!!![:)]

It IS bad Mrs S, but do you not think that the worst bit is about them contacting the daughters mobile phone?
