Hi wild rose.
I have a bit of a list for septembers first non iva payday. I need a new decent hairdryer and undies and work clothes as my first priority.
Then its trying to get some savings together for replace my car in the future. Id also like to try contacts as I have been thinking about it for a while but its just not been a priority.
Its a strange feeling isnt it knowing that this amount is going to be available..such possibilities.

It's the thought of being able to buy normal things again sometime soon that has kept me going when I'm having a bad day. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to go mad, it'll just be nice to be able to gradually replace all the stuff that is well past it's best.
I don't think I'll ever sell at a car boot sale again! Or on ebay. I find it stressful and a faff. I've had no choice recently but I hate it! Tbh it's probably the fact that I've had no choice that's made me hate it lol.
It'll also be nice to be able to buy the kids some nice clothes rather than something either from the charity shop or just because it's cheap.
I also can't wait to actually have some savings! I've always had to rely on credit cards in the past when something unexpected is needed, it'll be lovely knowing that I have a safety cushion. I have never had savings before!
firstly i will take my ex wife to court to get her out of the former matrimonial home!...next a newer car as mine is falling apart, then save money for a wedding!!
Month 1 Cancel S/O (£250), take wife out for dinner somewhere nice! buy kids all a present.
Month 2 Start another S/O for the same amount. But this time it will be going to the Halifax so that I can start to hit a b***** good hole in the mortgage!
Then..... relax
I made my last payment in January and gave my daughter February's payment (she's still got it sitting in the savings account she has with me). Saved a couple of months and then gave my husband a payment and he went to a fishing tackle shop and was like a kid in a sweet shop...he replenished his kit and me well I've had nothing yet but I'm sure I will but far too frugal at the minute.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
This has been a lovely thread to read and how nice for you all to share something really positive. I know for a fact it will be encouraging and inspiring for those reading the forum to see how there does come a point when you can look forward to spending money again on the things you need and want
ps Wild Rose - Dunelm Mill are doing a great offer on towels at the mo if you have one near you...and they do dressing gowns in every colour to match....now that's a luxury!!!

It's so nice to have feeling of hope and plans for the future and not just dispair!
I never fail to be warmed by how clients come through the darkness to a much better place...that is ultimately what this is all about - big hugs all round

Our last payment is due on the actual day of my 40th Birthday! So I may have to save up some extra to have a celebratory meal out that night!
Then after that ... new boots and a new coat ... been so long since I've had either!
We may also try to wangle a little family holiday too since it will have been a long long time since the last one ... or maybe finally get on top of some of those house & car repairs that have had to go untouched for so long.

IVA approved Aug 2008 - 6 year term - last payment made 6 Oct 2014. CC received 14 Nov 2014.
A new TV for the living room, ours went pop just 5 months into our IVA and we could not afford to buy a new one so searched craigs list, freebay etc. We got a flat screen from the charity shop that had a few dark lines down the screen. These have been getting darker and wider over the years and if the background colour is blue you cant see anything but the lines. So a TV is first on the list, a new bed is a close second. A holiday will happen, just don't know how far into out debt free future that will be.
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
