I received a cheque for 3000 and a letter stating they have informed my ip,not hearing nothing then for a further 3 yrs. being told today that eif are awaiting correspondence from the said ppi claim .what should I do come clean and say I applied for the ppi or keep quite. What will happen so close to my freedom

It is advisable to come forward and this will likely need a variation. Creditors may accept an extension of a year or whatever time is necessary for the £3,000 to be introduced. Your IP will almost certainly find out and this could cause problems.
