I am putting my head straight now after (it seems) a lifetime always worring about debts... I thought once my IVA would be accepted could get on and try to save some money for the future.....

Hi Poso
You can keep anything you save from your set expenditure, remember there is always the freezer that could pack in or washing machine need repair. Since starting my iva I have tried to save in certain ways by getting better deals with virgin and insurances, so you keep what you save.

Hi Ang

thanks for that... I think I have to have a look at my set expenditure and take it from there...

Hi thanks to all for your support...

Just spoke to the IVA team this morning, regarding saving money... They say that yes I can save money, this is only if I save £100 pounds here £50 there, but if I save 100s of pounds every month then they need to see what it is happening with my financial situation....

Also asked about an insurance towards the IVA and they said there is not one....

Hi Poso there is insurance against your iva payments look at the experts page John tegg is a great chap and can do this for you at quite reasonable cost. it covers you against redundancy, sickness etc.
Glad you sorted the saving bit, I dont think any of us can save hundreds each month, but the odd fifty pounds needs to be saved for thos emergencies otherwise the iva payments could be affected.

Hi Ang

thanks for all your suggestions...
Regarding the cover I am not sure, I am a bit scared to jeopardise the trust that i have with my supervisor.... I will have to think about it...
