You will never guess what happened to me this afternoon!

I was contacted by a Payplan debt adviser, referring to my enquiry for personal debt advice. Apparently I had filled out their enquiry form as I was in financial difficulty, and needed help! The poor lady on the phone seemed to be terribly confused when I advised her of my profession, and how I imagine some kind person out there thought this would be a great prank!! After a few moments of interesting discussion sharing Data Protection issues, I politely ended the call.

No harm done - but is has made me think of a few people to now put on my April Fools list!

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

This is amusing Mel - I can just imagine the silence on the end of the phone once you told her you were an IP!!

Not sure she knew what an IP was! There was certainly lots of confusion.

Don't think it could have been a cold call. If I felt that the banking industry'd preferred provider of debt advice to consumers was engaged in that sort of carry on, then it is time to find something else to do.

I cannot fault Payplan at all - the lady was courteous and dealt with the call perfectly adequately. I guess my name was just the next on the list, and if I had not been in a meeting at the time the call came through I might have played along with it a bit for market research purposes. But when I get hold of the culprit ....!!
