Good luck for the smoking clinic. My daughter and son in law have done with the help of some tablets or other. Never believed either would do it but they both have so credit to them. Been nearly a year for them too. x

That was my problem - I yo-yo dieted for years until doing the surgery. I just have to watch what I eat now.

I wish I'd never have either Skippy. When I did I enjoyed it but when I look at people now and I know I'm the worlds worst convert I think it's disgusting, the smell the look and everything about it. x

I tried the tablets (champix) but they literally made me chronically ill after all they are a mind altering drug hense why they are so sucessful in helping people to quit.. so wont be able to have that so will probably be back on the patches but at least then its just at prescrption charge.. and as I cant afford to buy lots of treats in I am hoping that the weight will stay off :-/ might take up a little excercising or get my bike out.. guess that will also help with the stress.

I used to like smoking but since giving up I hate the smell of it. My stepson and stepdaughter both smoke and they are banished outside when they do want a smoke.

We both gave up smoking in 2006 that was the start of my wieght gain as well, we did it cold turkey, it was easier than I thought it would be. I am actually really suprised I managed it as I didn't think I would
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine

My husband smokes outside....but I hate it...I have refused to buy cigarettes in 2013 so now if he wants them he has to get them...and seeing as I hold the purse strings and he gets his "pocket money" each month (old habit from IVA days that I have continued - helps to manage the bank account) and when it has gone it has gone ....let me think... he will be slowing down somewhat this year !!!

harrysmummy - seeing as you have inside knowledge....can you post some good practises for forum members who are not able to find the money each to join their local SW or WW etc - this would really help I am sure....

I fell out with someone I used to work with as she wanted a lift and got the right hump when I wouldn't let her smoke in my car! No one is allowed to smoke in my home either and if they wanted to smoke in the garden they could go as far away from the house as possible! No way would they be allowed to smoke on the patio!

Well done Luluj on the weight loss.

I'm not joining SW this week I am using my birthday money to join the gym, a ten week drop a dress size for £49.00 for this you get weighed and have the 'talk', use the gym twice a week once for 40 mins and once for an hour or two classes. I'll choose the gym though.

That'll take me through to the end of March and that's when I go to Huddersfield for an important function. If successful I miight join again as son getting married in October and this was announced last night x
