Can anyone recommend a company to deal with an iva we have hit that brick wall and can no longer pay all our debts? Have spoken to one company and they seem good but want £295 once. Iva starts for arranging things is this normal?
I would speak to several firms before deciding which one you want. Some firms do charge upfront fees but others don;t.
If you visit www.iva.com you will find a list of companies and reviews. Give one or two a ring and you will receive free and impartial advice as to all the options open to you.

Hi Stressed and welcome have a look at www.iva.com for a list of reputable companies, some do want up front fees, some don't, I didn't pay anything until I sent my proposal back and had to pay the first months payment with that, which would have been refunded if my IVA wasn't approved, I am with Melanie Giles who are fantastic
I would certainly start researching your options, I was in your position and now my IVA is accepted and I have a way forward even though it's a tough way forward!
Not all firms charge up front, I'm with Payplan and they don't charge up front and many don't, however don't judge the quality of the firm by upfront fees or not, you have to find the right one for you, try the link above.

stressed28. Go for it. The sense of relief when it's all approved is immense. I am sleeping well at night and don't mind opening the post box every day now.
what to do please has anyone dealt with vince bond i've read so much about how some companies fleece people really scaredc to commit even though we need to act
VB won't fleece you stressed28. They are as mentioned above a reputable company. Mel has posted above about them and she is a top notch IP who posts on here regular. I went with McCambridge Duffy - they don't charge anything up front, littlefi with Payplan. I would always advise speaking to 2 or 3 companies though as you need to be happy with who is running your IVA for 5 years.
Hi Stressed28, we are with VB and are just collating all our paperwork. Whilst it's not everybody's choice to make 2 months payments for assistance with setting up the IVA we decided to go with them because Andy Davie was so helpful. He was the first person I spoke to having added up just how much we owed and we felt reassured instantly. And discovered that there might be a solution for us. All the staff are really helpful with any queries you have and I cannot praise them highly enough. So I'm hoping that this will reassure you
