Given that you have chosen CCCS to do your IVA, you will be firmly expected to stick to their own guidelines with regard to expenditure allowances, unless you can provide justification that you actually spend more. For a family of 2 adults and four children (I am assuming this is your mix), their allowances range from £92 per week to £145 per week. At £126 per week, you are someway in the middle - but if this is what you actually spend then you should be happy.

You made me giggle about your haircuts! The thought of my hubby getting near to my head with a pair of scissors is beyond belief. He can't even cut the grass properly!

There is no way my hubby would be allowed anywhere near my hair!

He does his own with clippers, and I have a dry cut every five weeks - at a hairdressers!

Mrs Diddy drew some rather graphic diagrams of what she would be cutting off if I went near her hair, so I decided not to push the point.

I feel comfortable with the budget at the moment, as i said we have really cut everything to the bone and then some in the last 3 or so years (putting off the inevitable), so even at this early stage its feeling like a real positive move in quality of life for us. Knowing that we don't have to dodge the school Headmistress when she comes looking for this weeks dinner money etc is a massive relief in itself and having a defined budget (however small) for the kids shoes is a godsend.

Just have this feeling that its all going to go horribly wrong, but trying not to worry too much about ifs buts and maybes and concentrate on what I can affect now.

That is a great positive mental attitude to have Diddy, and I am sure you will eventually make it.

Good luck with your application.

The post about the haircut made me smile Diddy! No way would my OH be allowed to cut my hair - he has his cut by his mate who used to be a barber and couldn't understand why I didn't want him to do mine as well!

Good luck with your proposal. With your positive attitude I'm sure you'll be fine. Please keep posting to let us know how you're getting on x

Hi and welcome tot he forum from myself, great to read your positive attitude and I'm sure with this you'll do well in your IVA.

Haircuts are very personal and I won't be letting my hubby anywhere near me with scissors or clippers, I might let my daughter one day but not for a while yet!

Stick around with us as there is always someone here to offer any advice/support needed.

The only thing my hubby does sometimes is just trim the hairs on my neck - and that's it!

Then again - mine is so short he can't do a lot with it anyway! Fifteen minutes in the hairdresser's and I'm done!

I'd have as long as I could as I enjoy the pampering but sadly can't afford it, home hairdresser now, she's great but not the same is it?

I love someone else washing my hair, but sadly can't afford that or a cut and blow dry or the colour I used to have.

It has to be a dry trim these days.
