GT and PPI claim

Thank you for this website, I just came across it by chance as GT were frustrating me. I made my final payment in January this year and was informed I would receive my letter of closure after 6monmths. Almost a year now and the latest is end of January 2013 as they only started working on my papawork in July and I have been also referred to some company to try and claim PPi !!!!

Sorry to hear other folk in the same boat. Perhaps one of the professional forum members could advise on whether there is anything that can be done to speed up the process or failing that where we can file complaints. I believe that 17 months is an unacceptable length of time to still be waiting for cc especially when it seems I Will have to wait till April 2013 before cc issued. To be honest I have no faith that it Will be concluded then. I agree with geordie123 as still unable to move on despite honouring the terms of IVA.

Hi Geordie. It wasn't said to lay off GT -- what was said was that posts were becoming barbed toward Karol, who is, after all, trying to assist as far as she is able.

Have a go at GT, by all means, I shall post brickbats if they upset me ( and bouquets when they do well -- which, I must say, so far, they have been ok ).

But, sometimes, we get carried away -- yes, these issues border on life or death when we have played ball for such a long time.

I will always praise where praise is due and have praised Karol in the past for trying to help and would always recommend to anyone thinking of entering into an IVA to go ahead and do it. For all that has happened it is still the best thing we did as it enabled us to pay back a huge chunk of what we owed. Can you imagine how some of us feel who have been put on hold by GT to see people receiving their closure after only a few months. It is soul destroying after our commitment to paying colossal monthly payments to see the finish line getting no nearer.

My biggest fear while waiting for the elusive certificate is what if anything else crops up to delay things even further. How long could completion actually take if creditors decide that they can explore other avenues for assets?
I've also wondered why, if IP's are being pressured by our creditors to pursue PPI, don't the creditors liaise directly with the IP's and reduce the sums owed accordingly. This would surely stop many of the delays.

Yes Stirling I agree with you . It is always on your mind that even at this stage something could go wrong and it makes you feel physically sick.

Totally agree with you Sterling, first the VAT, now PPI, will it be something else soon. It is a shame that creditors don't liaise directly with the IP as this would stop all this nonsense and i know from personal experience that they will challange any off-set.

Unfortunately, it seems, your vision may be true. On the telly last night, Panorama I think, CPP are now being investigated for misselling products to consumers. Apparently, this has to be addressed.

Hi Geordie mate. It sounds like we ended our IVA's at a similar time and are having identical issues with GT. I bet they just send the same emails out to everyone whilst not even looking at cases. So brassed off with them its unreal. I'll always give credit where it is due, but I can not give an ounce of credit to these cowboys.
