I remember experiencing almost every conceivable emotion in the few weeks it took to set up our IVA. We're over half way through now and no-one outside of this forum knows and that's the way I'd like it to stay!
You should feel proud of yourself for recognising the fact you're in a financial situation and that you're doing something positive about it. It seems daunting at the start - and then at the first Christmas etc but it really does get easier as you become accustomed to a new way of life.
Good luck and read all the blogs - they've been a great inspiration to me!
your doing the right thing ,but i think ts the hardest thing that folks dont know ,and even harder when you have to say no to the kids all the time.we are out of our iva and if it makes you feel better its still hard good luck
I shall be glad to spend a bit more on the kids and grandkids when we are finished.

Another two years Tina - we have the extra 12 months in lieu of equity.

- I saw the "13 to go" on your signature line and thought you were nearly in your final year....

I would be if not for the house Tina. Way too much equity for it to be left out.
Unfortunately the countdown isn't able to reflect the extra 12 months.

I thought everyone copied your idea and you all did your countdown yourselves - I didn't know it was automatic! Shame it can't be adjusted though but I guess it shows how long someone has been in an IVA.

We all got ourselves into a pickle and that isn't something to be proud of; but you should be proud that you are repaying the debts and building a future for your family. Don't keep looking behind you!
You put the date your IVA started in your profile and the countdown does the rest. Unfortunately it doesn't go past five years.
I've kept the countdown in my signature the same but come the time we have done the remortgage clause then I will have to put it back.

I put our start date 12 months later than it actually was as ours was a 6 year IVA from the start - that way it looks like we've not been in an IVA as long as we actually have but the "months to go" is right and cheers me up! [:D] x

I suppose I was rather hoping that ours would end at 60 months!! I'm going to leave altering it for a while - I'm depressed enough as it is!!
