I just thought we could all do with a bit of dreaming of what we would do if we had won the £162 million Euromillions jackpot:

So what are your top five things to do with the money?
(Not including coughing up the full amount we owe to creditors etc and fees lol)

Mine are:

1. Make all of my close family and friends Multi-Millonaires.

2. Quit work and travel the World coming home every few months to see people then off again.

3. When bored of the above come home, find a nice bit of land and design and build my dream home.

4. Book a seat on Virgin Galactic so I can experience weightlessness.

5. Find a Volunteer job doing some form of charity work and regularly give money to charities, ideally small ones that often get overlooked.

Pay off all of my debts (mortgage and secured loan)

Give the kids some money (not enough that they didn't have to work anymore).

Set up trust funds for the grandchildren to be realised when they reach the age of 30.

Fund several lifeboats.

Give a fair amount to charities such as the Air Ambulance, BHF and Cancer Research.

Buy a big house on the coast and also travel the world extensively.

In no particular order:

Buy back my mum's house as she had to do an equity release when my Dad died.

Buy a bigger house for Dave, Harry and I in the middle of the country with no neighbours (I do like ours but would like to be detached!).

Make some carefully selected friends millionaires.

Pay for the wedding without worrying.

Buy Dave and I new cars - he can have his Mustang, but nothing flash for me, I'll have the cocktail green Chevy Spark I saw at Goodwood!

Make some donations to small local charities like our local hospice.

I know that's 6 but I think I could afford it with that sort of money!

I would pay off the kids debts, including their mortgages.

I'd give one or two friends some money.

I'd pay for Skip's honeymoon to Florida in a 5* hotel with theme park tickets and spending money!

Well Luke, my first thoughts if I had won the 161 million were to tell nobody and just vanish - but it would be impossible to keep that sort of win a secret for long! I would probably get rid of most of it this way in truth as I'm past the age of wanting flash cars, big houses and expensive women >>>>>>

100 million to various charities
20 million to family and friends
Allocate 5 million for purchase, training etc: of a couple of 3 year old racehorses, which would be my only real recreational interest now football has become ruined by money.
Buy a small house somewhere in Mid-Wales.
Leave what's left in the bank and make a will because I wouldn't want the Government getting it when I expire !!

First thing I would do is draw it all out in cash and spend the next few days picking it up from around the house where I threw it to see how far it would go.. Then I would take it to Nat West and say I would like to open an account then say no thanks as you couldnt help me when I needed help. Then all the usual things helping out friends and family,Give to charity and then find a nice house in the country with land and out buildings.I would then buy the house I live in now and rent it out to students just to annoy the neighbors as they have been a nightmare for years.

Carole I'm PMSL at the Natwest Dig and renting your house out to students to annoy your neighbours [:D]

I agree with the bank thing in my case it would be HSBC. I'd make the Manager beg for my business then say NO!

As for the neighbours I am lucky mine are great!

I would give my children money but only double what they earnt, if they went out and got a job for £25k a year I'd give them £50k per year to encourage them to keep working and they never get nothing for nothing. Mean Mummy I am! I'd look at their p60 each year.

I'd make sure my Mum moved to a better area (but doubt she'd want to).

Put MIL in a nursing home!

Have dog kennels!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Pay off everyones debt on the forum. The advice/friendship from the posts these last 5 years would be worth it and there'd still be plenty left for the boat, penthouse, ferrari, island....

After making sure my family were secure and debt free, enough for me and her-in-doors to live on until the year dot, I would give most of it away to those charities who really need it. I know it is a cliché, but what the hell good is £161 million to you if it sits in the bank and then gets eaten up in Tax when you die. Being in an IVA has taught me that greed and stupidity got me here, I have no intention of making that mistake again

Herbekj that would a fantastic gesture!

I wonder how much money would be needed for F&F's for everyone here? The mind boggles.
