Hi nicky, glad you feel better, you found it therapeutic to write the post, why not take a look at our blogs and write one of your own? I certainly find writing mine therapeutic but do realise it's in desperate need of updating.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Do give one or two companies a ring and I totally agree with Lesley - start a blog. You do feel so much better afterwards.
I'm waiting for my annual review now and then I will update mine.

Hi Nicky
My first post was a little like going into confession for me. Saying outloud (well in text form) our situation was very therapeutic and for me for once I felt on here I could say it all freely (because sometimes you can't talk to family or friends - otherwise we run the risk of becoming debt bores to others around us)
Welcome and I wish you luck in your journey.

When I was younger I did what I knew - now I know better I do better!
Morning Nicki and glad you are feeling better. Given that you will be taking some form of advice and your level of debt, it would be a good idea at this time to try and find new banking facilities with a lender to whom you owe no money. This will protect your wages when they go and allow you to concentrate on paying the essentials.
Given that you probably have quite a good credit rating you should be able to get an account with facilities such as a debit card or cheque book which might be more difficult once payments are missed to your creditors. A bank such as Lloyds or Barclays may be suitable but be wary of HSBC as they often write to clients who are in IVAs but have no debt and tell them to take their business elsewhere.
After reading the posts over the last few weeks I did apply to the Co-op and am just waiting for documents to arrive.
I do now need to sort out my car before I take the big leap on my step towards an IVA (hopefully). I cant say Ive ever bought a car on HP before so is there any company that I should look to using as my current credit rating is good although they'd laugh at me if they asked for outgoings and salary etc.? Is this going to be a problem or do you not get asked such questions if its HP as if you dont pay then the item is returned to them anyway?
Any ideas on which companies I should approach would be gratefully received. Ideally, Id like to sort out finance before I look for a car as Id feel too embarrassed to have to apply face to face and get turned down.
Most dealers will organise the finance for you via a number of finance companies. Possibly speak to local dealers but ensure they arrange hire purchase and do not sign anything that is not.
I'd just like to say welcome as well and that you have at last taken the first step to being debt free. It may well have taken a couple of weeks to write your first post(a very good one)but you have set the ball in motion.
Best of luck from here and good wishes.
A lot of my friends have bought cars through 'Car People' and I think they use Black Horse Finance. I am guessing that is HP but I am not 100% sure. Anyway they have found Car People to be a great dealer to buy a vehicle from.
