Congratulations Julie, that's really good news.

40 is no age - my mum was 44 when she had me and I was her first and only!

One good reason for Dave and I not getting married - I'm not ready to be a granny! Dave has 2 grandsons and a step granddaughter.

Oh how lovely!

I almost gave up too, after 6 losses and various other problems, now at 36 I have two lovely little baby girls, and yes I have step daughters too aged 20 and 22. No grandkids yet! But I bet I'm the oldest mum at the school gate.

Take good care of yourself and if you want to share in private try the "mums due....." board on the iVillage site. There will be loads of mums in the early stages on there too keeping it a secret!

Thanks again everyone - DM glad it all worked out for you. I was the youngest mum at the gate 24 yrs ago and I'll be opposite this time. I couldn't care less.

Had heart to heart with eldest daughter last night - I know she's worried about the impact it will have as she knows about the IVA. I told her that since the IVA neither her, her sister or my 2 gorgeous granddaughters have gone without so neither will baby "flump". One thing I've learnt is how to penny pinch !

Thanks again

Exactly!
You can get all your toys etc at bootfairs (they are in fab condition and soooooo cheap) and for other baby things, I've started trawling my local freecycle.org group. Loads of baby bits and all FREE!

Congratulations. I am sure elder daughter is just worried she may be used for baby sitting duties!!!

If you waited until you could afford children, half of us would never have any!!!
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

Elder daughter has a daughter herself so I think she panicking she going to lose a babysitter lol

I just hope my appetite subsides, otherwise my food bill will be double - not to mention my waistline.
