We will be in the last year of our IVA come April and I am now 17 weeks pregnant. We are planning to offer to pay our IVA payments up until June (with the last payment being 1st May) and offering £2000 which our friend has very kindly offered to give us but only if we can settle the IVA early.

My IVA was originally agreed with me paying back 17.93p in the £1 and my husband's for 13.51p in the £1. With this new joint variation we would be paying back 14.57p in the £1. What do you think the likelyhood is of this variation being accepted? I'm so nervous that it won't and we won't be able to afford to pay it with the baby and we really don't want to have to take a payment break so close to the end of the IVA, only to have to make payments again when the baby is 1 year old.

It is likely to be acceptable in my opinion.

Melanie I am coming up to my 4th year of IVA in March been paying £449 per month now since starting IVA I have just sent a F&F in for £8.000 as my husband has now agreed to borrow me the money as putting a huge strain on our relationship & marriage and my health. I am currently with Debt Free Direct previousley Clearstart what do you think my chances will be of an accept in your frame of mind.
Regards

It is in the right ball park - but probably a bit on the low side. I would have thought that £10k would have more chance, but creditors seem to be quite amenable to variations at the moment so you could be lucky.

Thanks Melanie I really hope it's a good offer and will be accepted, it would be such a weight off of our minds what with the baby coming.

Good luck to you too Karen

Hi folks just to let you know I have had contact please see below:-

Dear Karen

I write with regard to your recent request to settle your Arrangement early.

I can confirm your Supervisor has reviewed this request and has agreed to put the offer forward to your creditors.

Your case has now been passed to the Repayment Plan Team who will draft a report to creditors detailing your proposal. You will be contacted by the team in due course.

I've removed the web address Karen as we're not allowed to post those.

So glad they are going to put your proposal forward.

Don't know what the other phone call will be about though. Declan might pick up on this tomorrow and be able to help.

I think that wording will be absolutely fine for your Supervisor Karen.
