I have spoken to someone now. I just need to get my parents' to write a letter to say that they are willing to give me the money and then they can put a proposal together. The guy said it looks quite good. I was originally paying back £17,000 from a £50k debt, I have paid £4750 already and I'm offering £16,000. I do have a 4th year equity clause though but fingers crossed it's an okay offer.

I now have a date - woo hoo. It's 19 March at 10.15am. Apparently I am now offering 26p whereas it was 22p before so fingers crossed. I'll let you all know how it goes. Can't believe I could be debt free for the first time in 15 years in a month's time.

If you are offering more, then that sounds good to me.

Good luck for the 19th. I've got my fingers crossed.

Thank you !!

One question though - if my F&F is accepted on the 19th, BE say that I have 3 months to pay the money. This is great as my parents will be able to hand a cheque over on 1st May. So, my question is, do I pay the 1st April and 1st May IVA payment or, once it's accepted, stop paying. This money will definitely be available then.

It depends on the wording of your F&F offer - if in doubt check with your IP.

I would think the monthly would continue - but you never know it might be counted towards the lump sum.
