In my experience this creditor are very supportive of IVA proceedings, but they are quite harsh on IP fees! Fortunately they do not tend to be a majority creditor.

In my case Capital One were probably my most responsible creditor. I had a Credit Card with them for many years and they alone were the ones who kept my Credit Limit at a sensible level - in fact I dont think it was ever increased once. Also their interest rates did not suddenly shoot up as was the case with so many others. I get the impression from Melanies post - where she states that they are rarely a majority creditor - that it is their policy to keep peoples credit limits at a sensibly low level. If only there were more like them!!!!

Hi
Am I correct in thinking that they are an American backed company ?
Whether they vote yes or no it,s nice to see a creditor react to notice from the IP that an IVA proposal is underway. This is a case of a creditor understanding that the debtor can,t pay as opposed to won,t pay.
regards

They voted yes at our meeting to both our IVA's as both my husband and myself had cc's with them. I agree with them being sensible lenders we had low limits with them and low interest too.

Why spend life worrying...when you can spend it smiling!!

Andy -

It says on their website that they are a US based company who opened a UK / European base in Nottingham in 1996.

My husband is at the very early stages of his IVA. Up until a couple of months ago he was managing to pay his creditors but it was a case of robbing Peter to Paul.

However, now that he is well and truly behind with payments the phone calls and letters have started.

We have found Barclaycard and Halifax the worst. Halifax do now appear to have stopped but Barclaycard are very persistent. I even stopped answering the phone this evening because I was fed up with it only to find my daughter had tried to get through to me!
