Stop beating yourself up about this Woody - YOU have done nothing wrong. Give them a ring tomorrow and then post on the forum if you feel you need any more support.

Hi,

I thought prior to going IVA, IP or IP administrator will sort our all information including I & E, what surplus you got then will be your first payment to process your paperwork when you decided to go ahead with your IVA, when you agree of the amount your willing and can afford to pay.

You can also check your registered mail at www.royalmail.co.uk

best regards,

maria

I wouldnt panic too much Woody....my IVA took 8 months to organise (from day 1 to approval of IVA!)
I now realise after reading postings on here that I have a really good, very fair IVA!
IVAs do not appear over night, Often there is a lot going on behind the scenes and just cause you dont get weekly calls doesnt mean your IVA application has vanished! I know it is a very stressful process...and if it does take time it doesnt automatically mean the company is useless!! :o)

But they should not take 8 months to put together!

just a thought:

is debtmatter a practitioner? or broker? why pass your info to someone else when they are advertising themselves to help u with ur debt.

It won't take 8 months to put together your IVA. Mine takes a few weeks for proposal to come then a month or less for creditors meeting and voting.

Hi Woody
I think that you should hang in there now.You are so close to the creditors meeting, just phone your IP and hurry things along.Paying upfront is not always a bad thing and I would do it if it guaranteed acceptance and good service.Don,t be afraid to contact your IP as you are their customer and they will be getting well paid for organising and supervising your IVA.

Hi
Bear in mind as the time goes by,your debt is growing in charges and arrears, so don't delay! The debts your IP presents at the meeting need to tally approx to what you own. Or they would have to recalculate the dividends later on and ask you to contribute more.

I would certainly agree you are not stupid you have taken advise from a company that markets for iva's and as Melanie said some do take upfront fee's.
Try and calm down and speak directly to your ip and sort this out.
Goodluck and let us know how you get on.

Tracy
