Well done Steve! Sounds to me like your IVA providers are legends! Good luck - and I hope for you they continue to be good. A 200 mile round trip to meet you? Crikey! How many people are prepared to do that? That is really good, personal service. Sounds to me like you have hit gold.

Hayley -- you are spot on. Steve certainly has hit gold with his choice of team.

Mel and her team must all be double-jointed ---- they all bend over backwards to help where they can :-)

They are certainly the gold standard in the insolvency world and more firms should try to aspire to such care and compassion.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Can only agree, at a Christmas Frugal Friends event once, Melanie took time out to speak to my husband and I for about an hour of the social evening when he was at threat from redundancy. Nothing seems too much trouble for any of them at any time of day.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I really appreciate all of the nice comments guys - but we are only really doing our jobs at the end of the day, and I don't know how else to do it!

You're too modest Mel, judging by the posts I've read, people are lucky to have you looking after them.
Life after IVA is wonderful.

I've joined this forum and i am in debt...i was advised by a friend to start an IVA or DMP but as it happens i am now in the early stages of a proposal which looks like it will go ahead :) I am however a little nervous about entering into an IVA but through this forum i've seen nothing but positive comments about having gone through one. I hope to refer back to this forum through the start of mine. i only wish i knew about this sooner.

This forum really is a godsend,it's helped me get through the last 15 months in a IVA. If you've a query or worrying about something ,there is usually someone who has been there already. I've had valuable advice, on and off the forum and made friends I hope to meet in the flesh someday[:D]
Have no regrets, the future is ours!

Best of luck with your own proposal boops, and don't forget to let us know how it all goes. Which firm have you chosen to represent you?

OK I need some assistance and advice. Eventually got a reply re my creditors meeting, and was told that it had been accepted but with some amendments. Firstly I had re Duce my life insurance by £5 per month which was ok , secondly as I have a car HP of £259 per month for one more year, as the cap was £250 per month my IVA would have to be extended for another 12months making it 6 years. Also I had asked that our joint income be calculated for working out overtime etc (ie 1st 10% we keep and then after that 50/50) as my wife earns around £200 per month and has scope to work more but if 50% is taken of her when she is on minimum wage there is no point in her working. I have been advised today that I am to have a 5% paycut, which is difficult to absorb therefore I will rely on my wife to work extra hours. GT gave me 4 hours to give them a decision as then the whole process would have to start again and the decision will not be as favourable. I think this is appalling to put someone under pressure like this, and I refused has I needed to explore my options again. I also asked the question re what happens to my car after next year and was told to possibly explore better the options of public transport and provide more into the pot, however 250 will be the max I would be allowed to use for refinancing. Great with a family of 6 in a rural area.
Cn I re negotiate with another IP who I feel would work with not only the creditors interest but mine as well
So frustrated and cross
