I have only been posting for a couple of days and my last posting charging order became a hot topic. When I last posted I was eagerly awaiting a call from the company I had chosen expecting them to go through the initial paperwork that I had sent in. As I am just considering the start of an IVA I felt supported by the words people on the forum were giving me.But NOW I am truely depressed and frightend that I may not have chosen the right company.

I took the advice of IVA.com and looked at the reviews of different companies and low and behold I havent chosen one with the best reviews (not all bad but not all good either) to make matters worse they they called me Tuesday evening took some details and told me they would call back Wednesday.

that came and went I waited most of Thursday and then called them asking why they did not return the call. All I got was the usual I am sorry Idont understand why we didnt contact you your advisor is one of our most reliable.

The are now going to call me Monday afternoon If they cant get this right how confident can I be they will get my IVA right????

I am loosing the will to live and dont know which way to turn

If you feel let down by this company, then this may not bode well for the rest of the IVA procedure. I would try two or three companies, and go with the one who treats you as an individual, gives you advice as to all of your options and is going to act in your interests by putting the best proposal in front of creditors.

i would agree with melanie, try a few other companies and see what options they give you, 5 yrs is a long time, and you need to feel comfortable with the company representing you.

Dear Mondaynight,

I feel some one should be availabe at the end of the phone to answer you on the phone or should phone you back on leaving a message, otherwise I would be very concerned about this company.

I do not see the point of smoe one coming back to you a few days later.IF THEY ARE SO BUSY THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN YOUR CASE AT ALL. Where upon you could have gone somewhere else. What you need is promt and timely communication.

Hara.

Hi Mondaynight.

Why wait til tomorrow? Contact another company today. The lack of response so far suggests this company might be inundated with work. Great for the company but not so good for you as your case may not get the attention it needs and deserves. You haven't committed to this company yet so there is nothing to stop you going elsewhere.

At the risk of repeating myself I can fully recommend Melanie. Why not check out her website.

Dave

This is a huge thing you are entering into. You have to feel reasured and confident you are doing the right thing. A simple thing like this company returning a phone call or doing something they say you are going to do is a real wind up when they dont for us mere mortal, especially with stress levels at an all time high.

There are so many helpful people on this site that give up a lot of time and expert knowlege to help others, which i personally thank them for and really appreciate.

Dont ever settle for second best you are the important person in this situation, whatever you do from now on impacts your life and that of your family so feel confident you choose the right way to go. Debt pushes all of us into desperate mesures at time. Shop around ask load of questions and make whatever decicion is right for you.

I wish you loads of luck. xx

Dear Monday,

What has to be remembered here is that though you are in financial difficulty, that you are paying good money for the service may be whoever you are dealing with may need reminding this.

Once again thanks everyone. My husband took me to see family today bcause I was so stressed.

I got myself in a spin beacuse I have given this company all of my paperwork (payslips, bank statements endownment papers etc) and I wonder how long it will take me too get it back. DO I need it all before I can approach another company.

I will take Thebears advice and try Melaine. Thanks eveyone

Did you give the originals, you only needed to give photocopies.

If you have given originals and have photocopies, if you ffel you can always approach a different company.

Hi
Just write to them recorded delivery and ask for them to be sent back. When they phone and ask why just tell them that you have not been impressed with their service level.
An Iva is a life changing event so take your time and choose your IP on recommendation.
