You obviously have to have a certain personality to do that job, I certainly couldn't do it. I'd probably be offering to make their payments for them!

I wonder if they have to do an aptitude test before they are hired and the nastiest bully is the one who gets taken on![:D][:D]

well im the same,i couldnt be horrible to someone if i tried ! and especially to a stranger over the phone.those people must have no conscience whatsoever.anyway they must be havin a day off today.my phone hasnt rang once ! [:D] [:D]

Had up to 11 calls so far today, I answered the phone yesterday as the number was witheld (hubby rings with witheld no) I was happy till I heard the woman asking for hubby, explained he works away etc she demanded to know why his mobile was switched off, tried to explain where he is there is no mobile signal, she was horrible she stated a letter will be arriving soon will I forward it on, she just would not listen. Oops phone ringing again. How can people be so horrible sunday is a day of rest!! No post at least.

[8D]that is ridiculous ann ! im sure they are nastier than usual at a weekend.theyre probably peed off cause theyre stuck in a call centre full of other nasty people and its beautiful outside !!! [:D]

I think I would have told her that it is non of her business why your hubby has his phone off!!!!

Perhaps you could pre-arrange a signal with him? Get him to let the phone ring twice, then put it down and then ring again? At least you could be more or less certain that it was him on the other end.

I wonder if these places have a monthly competition - how nasty can I be on the phone?

I am sure I read a few months ago that the staff at Goldfish call centre ( Glasgow) jobs were on the line. I think a decision willbe made later this and about 900 of them could get laid off [:o)] Not sure how to feel about that. This time last year wen they were calling me at home and work I would have laughed at the news! But you could say they are just doing their job. On the other hand you could say serves them right!! ( or as my glaswegian mother would say " hell mind them" ( or is it "hell mend them" Must check with me mother about that)

I agree that they are just doing their job, but they could be nicer when they phone up rather than aggressive as soon as they confirm who you are! The job losses though are probably the people who deal with new accounts and people who pay on time. I doubt if everyone has the bottle to be able to be nasty to people.

The staff who do the debt chasing will probably find that their jobs are safe.
