Hi,
There's an article in today's Mail on Aldi. Basically it tells you about the owners, two millionaire brothers who are apparently more reclusive than the Yeti!! It does praise their no nonsense store design - all stores are the same and designed around four isles, and says the food and veg are of high quality.
(My treat is a newspaper on a Monday and Sunday!!)
Hugs,

I buy some things at Aldi their wholemeal/multi grain bread at 79p a loaf can't in my opinion be beaten. I do find though that the veg there is great if eaten on the day or the next day but doesn't keep too well. Also their frozen fish such as tuna steaks are first class.

I use Morrisons as it is close by and if I drive the other way I have to go near the Trafford Centre which isa no no on a weekend. If I go to Asda at Eastlands (Manchester) some items are cheaper than Asda Trafford Park. Strange.........

I too go to Aldi for buscuits and a few other bits. X

My mum swears by Lidl cat litter....evidently it forms a clump as opposed to soaking through the whole tray..so you just scoop the clump out the tray and dont waste half a tray full!! good money saving tip for pets corner!! :o)

Oh moneystinks my mum lives near the Asda at Eastlands, I've been there a few times.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I have an even better tip for you cat owners. As others do we shred our statements and everything with our name and addres on it so once I have filled the shreder I use it as cat litter!!!!!! yes I do have to change it every day but it doesn't cost me a penny and to be honest 9 times out of 10 he will go outside, but it's my way of saving money and peeing on all those we owe!!!!!!!!!!!!
When will this all end?

Unfortunately when I tried giving Harry cheaper cat litter he kicked it all over the bathroom floor! I thought one litter was much the same as another, but obviously not! I've kept him on Catsan, but as he hardly ever uses it it doesn'y work out too expensive.

Hi Guys, Viki, I worked for Asda and they are REALLY strict on what they call misuse of discount cards. A few people were sacked for allowing someone else to use their card and I am sure all the other stores have similar rules. It's not worth it for a measley 10% (Asda anyway). Give Netto a try, I swear by it as I can still get the branded names if I want them. Their Delta washing power is fab, its only about £1.88 for a K7 30 wash box! Kazzy x

Is their washing powder really good then ? I'm an Ariel baby, but it costs a fortune.

Washing powder is one thing I won't cut back on - it has to be Fairy non bio - as every time I've changed I've ended up with itchy skin!

Hi Skip & Quark, I am a true Arial & lenor (blue & green) snob and all my family have a skin condition, so we have to be really careful, and I have tried all the powders to see if they react and they invariably do, Persil is the worst, but I very 'tongue in cheek' tried Netto's Delta knowing full well really that it would end up being used for the dog blankets, but to our amazement has been absolutely fine. I still use lenor to enhance the nice smell, but it really is fine. Its gotta be worth a try for £1.88. :) Kazzy x

Thanks Kazzy, yeah, it's not worth it. He is working all the hours at the moment as it is summer break from uni. His mum prob gets the discount anyway. I do love Asda but Sainsburys is on our doorstep so sometimes it's easier to just walk up there......I get some fresh air then aswell! X

I ended up visiting 3 supermarkets today - Sainsbury first - they had punnets of peaches and nectarines for £1 (probably have to leave them to ripen for 3 months mind!) But my best buy in there was Basics shower gell for ....10p !!! Ok I admit I wont use it myself (Original Source was on offer buy 2 for £1.81 and I love the tingle from the minty one!!!) great for my 8 year old though who likes to make "potions" in the shower!
Next was Asda where my husband works but guess what - he'd left his staff discount card behind-Doh !
Lastly Morrissons for Diet Coke - 6 x 1.25 litre bottles for £3 (we sell it in the cafe and thats a good buy. And Kenco coffee 200g buy 2 for £6 I think.
