Hi folks,

I've been mostly lurking rather than posting as life has been manic, complicated and stressful, but I'd like to wish everyone a happy and stress free Xmas and a New Year that brings good luck, improved circumstances and happiness. I can't beleive it's a year since I first found this site and then plucked up the courage to post and even though I'm only an occasional poster everyone is so great and supportive. This year has been very up and down for me. There was the initial euphoria of gettinbg my IVA approved, but then I lost my job in August and ended up on a much reduced income, however, on the up side, lots of great things have happened.

I have 2 new kitty cat babies who were removed from a dog-fighting house by the RSPCA. I nursed them back to health then couldn't bear to part with them! I also have a new collie doglet who is a very serious abuse case that came from Ireland via a Border Collie rescue. I am a sucker for punishment. She's not leaving either!! [:D]

Financially, things are pretty tough. But... (if this makes sense) I have also never been better off financially!! Irony eh? Because I manage my money so carefully now, I never seem to not "just have enough" to be able to buy the essentials. I can't say I live it up by any means, but now at least I have the money available to pay for pet food! (And I need to with all the mouths I have to feed!).

And, on that note, please could I have some good luck thoughts? I have decided to quit teaching and return to what I used to do before in industry. To that end, I have applied for a really good job that would basically mean that I was sorted out for good and would mean I could complete my IVA. (Yes, it's that close at the moment and until my dad stepped in with this months IVA payment it was looking like I'd have to miss one. As it is, it's all a bit higgledy piggledy! [:(]) Anyway, even though I only really lurk, please could I have some good luck wishes that the New year works out for me?

Have a Happy Xmas and New Year folks!

RC. (Melanie, I'll be in touch the first week in Jan to update you on a few things and to just ask some general advice)

I'll look forward to that call RC, and wish you the very best of luck with the job. After some of those horror stories you told me about the classroom antics of some of the children in your school, I am not suprised you decided to hang your gown up.

Looking after rescue animals is such a worthwhile hobby - my Manager, Melanie Nicholas, also does this - and also gets very attached to them as well. She specialises in labradors. Wish I could do it, but Jess would never let another dog share her home. We have my father-in-law staying at the moment with his Westie, and they are not getting on at all well!

I think what you're doing for the animals is great RC. I wish I could do it, but I'd end up keeping all of them!

Thank you for your advice when I was worried about Harry, and good luck with the job application - let us know how you get on xxx
