Will admit i hate the dentist with a passion, haven't been for about 6 years, then about 3 years ago i broke a front tooth biking accident face first into concrete took a wedge out of my main front one. I left it 3 years to the point my OH nagging me to go i finally went.

Now i have the front one fixed and looks like a normal tooth again, also had to have 3 fillings, one of them a double tooth so im guessing 4. Thing is i told the dentist im not good with these things, no problems had a tele to watch above me to keep me distracted and had quick small sessions, total cost was £47 for about 5 sessions, going back in 6 months. Hopefully i can keep up going.

Last time I went for a filling I had to sign 10 green bottles - thanks Julie, it did help!
At the minute my teeth are bleeding all the time - mainly down to my pregnancy, all my treatment is free during & a year after the birth, so Im going to make sure if I need anything doing I get it donw now!

If Julie pops in - just need to say thank you again!

My son went to the dentist for his filling today, I was dreading it after his last experience. We went after school & I had explained it all again & the poor love burst into tears & said he was scared. I nearly bottled it n canceled it! But I said no let's get it done. He was ok chatting on the 20 minute journey in the car, then when we got there more tears.
This time the dentist & the assistant were much better, I asked them yo explain everything etc & this time they were good with him.
On the way there I remembered julies 10 green bottles & told my son to sing it & I bet him he would not get past 7 & it would be over. In the chair I reminded him of the song & do you know he got through it no problem & now has got over his fear of the dentist at the age of 8!!!!
I was so relieved! I did not want him fearing the dentist like I did n still do! & he sung 10 green bottles & only got to 8 - so thank you Julie! The 10 green bottles did it again!
On returning home he picked a magazine as a treat for being so brave, only to return to home to his younger brother whom then went in to have a full paddy! After explaining the magazine was a treat for being brave at the dentist.........."I want to have a filling" sobbing!.... Kids!

I made my first dentist appointment in five years after finishing my IVA payments. I knew I needed alot of work doing and figured it would cost me the earth. I was dreading it, especially after such a long gap between visits. But 4 appointments later - a bargin price of £46 and shiny teeth front and back again, it wasn't that bad!

The odd visit to the dentist is far less painful then an dodgy tooth and the associated ache.. You'll be fine.

I totally agree taliesin, despite my fear I go every 6 months- not sure what I'll do when they tell me I want treatment but I'll conquer that when I get to it! x

[:D] My daughter had a wisdom tooth out today - silently singing 10 green bottles got her through it!

I can't promise it will always work, but glad I passed it on Lyns [:)]

Thank you Oscar - i don't know what my youngest will be like if he does ever need one, the hubby will be taking him though if he does as I know he will kick off big style!

We will keep singing it Julie!!!

Lesley don't let it become painful & be brave n mention it to the dentist next time. I spent nearly a year not being able to bite on one side & broke a tooth. I was thinking the worst n it just needed filling, but don't leave it to late.
I think if you do get tooth ache - you will want the dentist to make it stop xxxx

4:30pm Lyns is my appointment, only for a check up this time though, I'm not sure if he'll say I need a filling but eh get me, I'm going to ask for an appointment for a scale and polish again as they've been so much better since the last time I had them done. x
