Everyone has had them. Some people (outside our situation) will never comprehend the depths of them. I want to start a thread of posts to show the lengths we have gone to keep the ball rolling, to put bread on the table, or whatever.

We did the 'treasure hunt' once. Went through all my wifes handbags for forgotten loose change just so we could get some essentials from the shop.

Hidden from the window cleaner (milkman disbanded)

Took the filter out of the washing machine to check for change.

Took the filter out of the tumble dryer and rooted about in the slot with some bbq tongues to get lost change. Managed a pack of fags off this one!

I hope Ive inspired you good people to add to this.

Good post how-did-this-happen.

Can I suggest that you blog your experiences? We love to read them and it is amazing how cathartic it is putting things down.

Thanks guys.
It never occurred to me to blog them. I just wanted to know if anyone else had done the same as me!

Hi Gary, can't say I've done those things but my purse at the minute is a bit dodgy and hoping Santa brings me a new one as it loses coins in the bottom of my bag and I'm often grateful for finding these at the end of the week!

Updated my blog Jan ;-), hope you enjoy the read.
I had a read through your blog yesterday and I could draw similarities between your situation and mine. Good to know i'm not on my own.

I have certainly done the 'hunt for loose change' bit to put money on the pre pay meters before now.
Biggest thing I did was sell my beautiful Yamaha saxophone...I miss it dreadfully but there are other priorities in life than music.

I'm really sorry about that Gary - don't know where my head was yesterday! Then again, my step granddaughter had been christened and I'd had one or two glasses of wine so that might explain it!

I have enjoyed reading your blog this morning.

You're never alone on here.

Who cares what you did? You've survived, that's the main thing.

This time next year............

plus, look forward to 2013/14 for our holiday! At least we know we'll get on!

Must tell you this, my hubby and daughter turned out the lights tonight and hid in the dark while I was at work....why? Santa was doing his rounds on the sleigh and they were collecting for charity! Tight gits or what????

We had some come to the door earlier this week. Hubby poked his round the door to see who was there, came in to get some money and when he went back they had gone!

I like those sort!
