I am biting my nails for my son, hes going to pick up his GCSE results soon, he's not had the best of years this year, done a lot of silly teenage things, made a few mistakes.I have told him at the end of the day whats done is done and he can't change anything. He can only look forward and change his life from now, but I know he will be gutted if he doesn't get any.At least he's been accepted for a college course not matter what his results are, poor thing must be worried sick hes been awake since 6 o'clock and thats not him.

Hey Hallway, good luck from me. Like Ang, I know someone who didn't bother to sit them either so he's got every chance of some success. X

Best of luck to him, I remember (just) picking mine up and I was so nervous in case I did badly. Not so bothered for me, but I would have felt that I was letting my mum and dad down. Weird really when you think about it, and that may be why your son is a little nervous himself.

Fingers crossed.

Hallway I know how you are feeling, I'm at working, now have a bad headache with stressing out, my son has also had a bad year he broke his ankle in March and was in hospital for a week, with having plates and pins in his hope of going in the RAF are slim, so hoping he does well in the exams he has a place at college but needs to get grade B's for engineering,

I wish he would ring!!

I'm proud of him as know he tried his best. Hallway I bet your proud of him for what he has achieved. I'm taking the afternoon off work to take him for lunch and have a good natter.

Ah sorry to hear that Anne he still did well though Mines of out with his mates somewhere prob wont see him for the day when I read results properly he actually got 4 c's an 3 b's made up for him,but as he did no work at all for them can't help but wonder what he could have done if he'd tried, still I will bite my tongue and let him enjoy his glory.

I have taken the day off work and was a nervous wreck this morning!

My son got 7Cs 2Bs and a D!

Its good for him and I know he worked hard so I am proud of him, he at college now sorting out his course, obviously he did not want Mummy to go with him and his mates, so I feel a bit redundant now!

I have 2 daughters too who are really academic but its ok, he did his best and as long as he is happy, I am happy[:D]

My own two at school not old enough to worry about GCSE's for a while yet, but I have just had a text from my VERY proud sister. My niece has just got 5 A stars and 6 A's to finish top of the pile in the whole school. Chuffed as little mintballs would not even begin to cover it!!

Nice to have a bit of good news for a change (unlike my next post)

Im the same Jane got 2 who are very academic ,1 did a degree at cambridge and qualified last year as a lawyer and the youngest (2 years 2 go before GCSE'S is a member of NAGTY and has just got a level 8 in maths sats (only 1 in his school to get it)the middle one who got his results today is too busy enjoying his life, loads of mates and girlfriends and really good at sports, lately got up to a bit of mischeif but hopefully he's learnt his lesson now and ready to get on with his life.I'm just as proud of all of them(sorry if it sounds like Im bragging don't mean to but isn't that what mums do?)Don't know were they get brains from me and their dad didn't get a qualification between us.

Hehe, same here, my eldest daughter is doing a Law Degree at Uni, she is just going into her 2nd year.

Youngest daughter is predicted to get the same high grades, but son is just "average" [:D]

Not sure where daughters get their brains from, they are really good at Maths and I am useless, (hence the bankruptcy!)
