Well I finally went back to bed around 4.30am and just kept thinking hubby is getting up at 5.30am so that kept me awake, still woke without my alarm at 7am. Hoping for a peaceful night tonight!

I am 50 miles from the epicentre ladyh and can confirm it was frightening here too. My husbands initial thoughts was our boiler as we are having major problems with it.

I got back to sleep about 4 and then my husband came in from work and that woke me again. I think an early night will be in order. They have just said it was 5.2 and the worst for 22 years. I am a light sleeper so it woke me but I think, but I would think a lot slept through it.

I thought I was being attacked by poltergeist. I have been watching too many X Files episodes! Was so glad to discover it was an earthquake this morning.

it woke me up too! The whole bed was shaking which is quite impressive as it's against 3 walls and can't move! I've never jumped out of bed so fast!! I thought one of my cats was under there, then realised they aren't the size of tigers. Which left the only other possibility of earthquake!

Ahhh actually now you mention cats, i thought at one point that my cats were fighting under the bed. I banged my leg on the bed but it didnt stop. There is a bag of computer games under the bed and the bag was rattling. Maybe that was it??
