I am currently in year 2 of my iva and all is going well. I have to re-locate to hong kong for work. My wages will be roughly the same as they are here so will not struggle to make my payments.
Is there anyone here who is in an iva whilst livng abroad?
Is it working ok?
Thanks.

No reason why your IVA can not continue, but give your IP your new address as your IVA may fail due to non cooperation with your IP. For example providing information for your financial review. Also, although your salary may remain the same, the costs of living may prove higher in HK. If that is the case you may need a variation to reduce contributions.

Hi.
There should be no problem. I would speak to your IP regarding any questions you have.

Hello Brunswick,

Firstly congratulations on your re-location - sounds exciting!!

Secondly as long as you keep your I.P in the loop I dont see why this should be a problem. You will need to confirm your living costs whilst being over there as this may be higher. Also you will need to put an extra expense in your monthly expenditure for money transfer fees as your bank will charge you for the international transfer.

I have lots of clients who have moved abroad, who are able to carry on making their payments and provide me with the information I need to review their circumstances on an annual basis.

I am also very jealous - always wanted that posting when we were in the Forces!
