Hi

There are a lot of charges from the bank on both my personal account and business account and am wondering if you have any advice concerning this. I have yet to work out the final figure...but the past 3 months alone on my personal account total £660!!!! Obviously I would like to apply to have these charges taken off the amount of money I owe the bank am I better off aplying now or waiting until I know the outcome of my IVA propsal?? If I do apply now will it affect me applying for an IVA?

All of this is so confusing and it is often difficult to know where to turn...am so glad I found this site!!!

Hi
If you claim for bank charges to be refunded and are successful any payment received will go into your IVA pot.
You may be better waiting until the outcome of you IVA
There is also a hold on all cases at the moment due to an ongoing court case so any claim will take at least a year

Hi Shrimp
Any charges will just be added to the amount put in the iva.If the iva is accepted then I would just leave them included. If you claim them back the bank will more than likely just reduce their debt or they will have to go to the iva.

Thanks for the advice....I don't want to pysically have the money in my hand...just have the bank reduce the amount I owe....charges would pretty much clear overdrafts on both accounts!!!! But think I may wait until I find out the outcome of the IVA before persuing this route...I don't want anything to put my application in jeopardy, it has taken me too lang just to get to this stage!!1
