The person who puts forward your IVA, called the Nominee, and the person who actually runs it once agreed, called the Supervisor (usually the same as the Nominee), need to be licened insolvency practitioners, and they are regulated by about 8 different authorities depending on how they obtained their qualification.

However, there are many companies that offer IVAs that do not have licensed staff, they make their money from referral fees charged to insolvency practitioners, generally you are better off going to an insolvency practitioner directly.
