To be told that an IVA is not an option is completely inaccurate - that of course is a decision for creditors to make.
That's key, and whether you are visiting a charity or a private debt management organisation you must ensure that you're getting the right advice. It's always worth getting a couple of opinions before any money changes hands.
Take care,

I am glad that geri2004 has taken the time to post of a positive experience, and also that everything is working out for her. Credit where credit is due, if you will pardon such an expression on this forum!!

I'll just comment that I sincerely do hope for you that your arrangement will conclude at the time that you expect it to - and that interest and charges which may not have been stopped don't suddenly rear their ugly heads again.

If you have an opportunity to get involved with CAP, RUN the other way as fast as you can. They took a lot of money from me over several months, never paid out the money to my creditors and tried to force me into bankruptcy when I clearly earn enough to work through a debt management plan. They were extremely judgmental, made me tell them extensively on the phone, in person, and in writing why I got into debt. They ridiculed me about being able to not spend money long enough to send payments to them and generally were bullies. There are plenty of other organisations that will help you for free without attempting to humiliate you or take advantage of you. You have been warned!

That's not a good thing to have to experience. You state rightly there are other organisations that are free and fee paying, whichever you choose they should be non-judgemental. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

That doesn't sound like a very Christian service to me - but I have seem some very good work done by this charity so hopefully yours was an isolated experience.

CAP, OH DEAR.
A close friend approached this outfit for help and finished up humiliated and confused. He almost went into some sort of clandestine agreement with them until he was shown the light.

It is always difficult to choose the right path when in debt and this can only be decided by you personally for your circumstances. Keep away from the ones with other agenda's. I'm an aircraft engineer and I don't do heart surgery?

Good luck

PS Glad Alice is happy with the workforce?
