Well I am impressed! GT issued closure docs dated 26th April, I received them Fri 27th April, checked today and I am no longer on the Insolvency Register..yay:~)[:)]

I can't believe that within a week I have gone from thinking I was in for a long wait to get my closure docs to receiving them and as of today off the register. I was on there yesterday and I was going to ask the forum how long it would take.

Part of me feels guilty for posting this message as I know some of you have been waiting in excess of 6 months. I just hope you all get closure really soon x

Glad you are all sorted now ladybird - good luck for your debt free future.

Brilliant that you are no longer on the register as well.

Cheers Kallis, the next challenge will be to clean up ye olde credit files although I can only clean them to a extent as I will need to wait for defaults and IVA to drop off in Nov. Do I need to send my CC to the credit file agencies or do they get told via another source to mark my IVA as satisified?

You need to send your completion off to the data controllers for any creditors that have defaulted you after the date of IVA acceptance and tell them to remove those defaults.

Ladybird i would,nt bother doing anything, everything on your credit files that was included in your IVA will drop off after 6 years is up from the start of your IVA.

If the defaults are registered after the start of the IVA, as mine are, then they won't drop off until you ask the creditors to correct the dates.

Otherwise it will be six years from the last date of default and, as mine are still continuing to do that, it will be at least six years from now and that I am not willing to accept and will be sorting it out post IVA completion.

Can I hop into this discussion - I looked at my credit file for the 1st time ever at the weekend. Depressing but then I knew it would be!
Most creditors have the correct default date (or within a week of it so I am not bothered about those). Very catalogue is not showing default but bizarrely 3 payments late and Creation (for Dell) 6 payments late. Should I write to them asking them to default me from the date of my IVA proposal being agreed?

Hi, I have been in my IVA for 2 1/2 years now and still I can't bring myself to look at the insolvency register or credit file. I still feel so ashamed and don't want to see it in black and white. Does anyone else feel the same?

It's not bothered either of us - I know it's on there and I have looked at it. I also know that none of my friends or relatives are aware of it and that's fine by me.

Neither of us feel ashamed - we're doing our best to sort out our debts.

Hi Unhappygirl,

I know exactley how you feel as I feel the same. I have been through a rocky 5 years and never told a soul, never told anyone of my IVA. I have just had me to rely on. There have been times when I have been so stressed and not known what to do but always managed to dig myself out the hole somehow. Even now the thought of someone finding out fills me with dread.
