My IVA was approved last week and whilst i am really happy to have addressed the issue and start to move forward i am really depressed that my name is on the internet for all and sundry to see! especially as i am the only one that knows about it.

I know its a small price to pay to being debt free and theres nothing i can do about it, but i cant help but feel sad that it has had to come to this!

It is a pain but you can rest assured that not many people know about it so are unlikely to check it.

Hey Sam

Welcome to the forum

Try not to even worry about the register, before you had your IVA did you even know the Insolvency Register existed as most people dont and therefore would not think twice about looking at it.

As you say, it realy is a small price to pay.

As above I didn't know about the register until I entered the IVA and to the best of my knowledge nobody I know knows I'm on there. If they do how did they know about it I would question?

Try not to worry x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I must admit I knew about it beforehand but only because I had spent time researching debt solutions in the years before we decided to do anything about it!!!, it bothered me at first but I don't think about it now, so far noone has come up to me and told me they have seen my name on there

Hi Sam 5426
Our IVA was a secret between the 2 of us basically. We were on the register and it worried my husband more than I, what if people at work find out...I really appreciate you are concerned but I think if people are looking at the register they are probably on there themselves. I did not know about the register when ours was first approved and having worked in many areas, eg Government, private sector etc I probably know of the existence of most things try to cross it from your mind this should not be a worry for you at all, believe me. You might find that an unscrupulous firm gets your details though and send you a letter saying that your IVA may have been misold, this happened to us. I knew it was a scam straight away and just forwarded the letter to our IVA company so if you get one of these letters I suggest you just do the same then no worries there. sincere best wishes

I am not telling anyone, if they find out, so be it ...... the chances are, if they are looking there, they are in trouble too !!!!

I must admit I was relieved when I appeared on the register -- it kind of made the whole thing "official"!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Sam5426 I hope you feel better today - it's easy for panic to kick in in an IVA but use the forum and it'll help you to get things into perspective. Hugs

the register does not bother me to much, i believe if people know about it, then they are either on it, been on it or wishing they were on it(pre iva acceptance)

My thoughts exactly. Not really bothered who else is on there either.
