Hi,

I've just been told by the National Debtline that I'm not eligible for an IVA becasue I have variable rate mortgage. Is this coorect? I can't switch to a fixed rate as my paymnets will go up from £435 to over £1000. Is this correct?

Hi Debs....I would take the other's advice and contact some IP's. I guess you were advised about the variable mortgage because the payments can vary, but I'm sure there's something that can be done. A lot of people who enter IVA's are on fixed starting out, but then the deal ends during an IVA and they cope, so there must be a way forward for you.

Do you have any idea what your disposable income is?

Hi
I can't see why having a variable rate mortgage will preclude you from an IVA. Take a second opinion

I know we are speaking to yoiu about this off-line, but at the end of the day there are options to you which mean that an IVA could be very workable.

Hi there

I am on a variable rate and just got my IVA approved so would not have thought that it was a deciding issue. Try some of the IP's listed on here.

They are awsome!
