I have been in an Iva since 2013, how much longer will I be trapped in this cycle? I did have a short period where due to loss of job I couldn’t pay.

Who are you with? When is your IVA due to end?

I was with debt free direct, and I think they sold out or rebranded as aperture. I am desperate to be free, but I’m absolutely petrified to email or call them Incase they say I still have years to go or that they want to increase my payments, I already pay £458 pcm

What did your proposals say about timescales?

Many 'standard' IVAs last for 5 years (plus an extra years extension if there is sufficient interest in a property).

Assuming you are not in any arrears and there have been no breaks etc I would expect yours to finish this year but hard to say without knowing the background.

Check your proposals and modifications and ask your IP.

You can also look at your last annual report - this should give you some idea.

The op did say there had been a period of time where they couldn't pay but hasn't said how long for or if the payments had been made up.
