I am on a State Pension and had completley forgotten that I will receive the annual payment at Christmas of £200 from the Government to help with fuel costs. Should I ask IP to reduce the gas/electric allowance by £16.00 per month now or wait til December and send them the full £200?

Don't reduce your allowances now --- just in case (God forbid) the government cancel any grants in the future !
Ask your IP what their thoughts are on this --- some will ignore it as a windfall under the trigger amount.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
