From experience there is a section that asks are you / or have you been in an IVA or Bankrupt on a residents visa application however not on a tourist visa (2 or 5 years). This is also applicable to the sponsor, if the person is not coming in on their own financial supporting documents.
Whether or not it influences the outcome I could not say.
