My husband and I had a joint Iva with Hanover Insolvency started in 2014... we made an early full and final settlement in December 2017.. and was told it will take upto 6months for our completion certificate to come through. I have been constantly chasing them as have read everywhere it shouldn’t take that long!.. Anyway now 6 months is finished I called to ask an update and was told it’s still in process we still gotta wait!... what shall I do?... other than this they have been really good and prompt when dealing with all my Iva related issues. Not ever had a problem with them but now I am at a loss as don’t know when our completion certificate will be coming through.
Any advice???
Check the wording of the "length of the Arrangement clause" in your proposal. For a 5 year IVA it usually states 66 months -- which is 60 payments and 6 months for completion procedures. It might also have a sub-clause stating that the admin period can be extended twice -- by 3 months and by 6 months by giving prior notice. If so, you have grounds for a formal complaint which you can escalate to their regulatory body if need be.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
