3 years into my iva and i need to sell my house asap because of family issue if i sold my my house i would receive £10.000 which would go to the iva i would the still owe money what i need to know is the best forward i was thing if i did follow this path i would then have to declaire myself bankrupt but then how long would i have to wait to apply for a new mortgage i was told 12 months by a friend is this correct

If you go BR now your credit record will be shot for 6 years, so very unlikely to get a mortgage before 2020.

One route might be to offer the full sale proceeds as a full and final settlement, which, if accepted will end the IVA early. However, it will stay on your record until 2017 ish.

I know for sure that there are certain companies which buy any property in any condition, they're interested in quick deals so that you will get your money asap. My sister had successfully sold her old cottage to Yeshomebuyers, I can say for sure these are reliable guys. They also offer free house valuation, so that you won't need 3rd part assistance for establishing the final price.

Mariah, for the purposes of an IVA these companies valuations cannot be used as they do not use open market values.
