Hi.

First of all. Thank you to the team that set these forums up. I have been on here many times over the last 5 years and have normally found a response to any questions I have had.

My question is a slightly odd one and I'm really beginning to worry about what will happen next. I paid my 60th month payment today (yippee!) which is my last month for my IVA but I have been unsuccesful for the last few YEARS to get in contact with CreditFix. I was originally with Melanie Giles and got handed over to these guys in early 2015 I believe.

A lot has changed in those years and I think I have spoken to them a handful of times on the phone. I've tried to call and mostly get no answer or if I do get through, get told that somebody will call back and they never do. I've received no emails, no letters... nothing. I have continued to make my payments but have had pay rises as well as I&E changed in those times of which I've not been able to inform CreditFix of as I cannot get in touch with them.

Now I have made my final payment (my standing order automatically paused after today) I am worried that I will begin to be chased for 'not paying' my IVA despite having technically completing this.

Has anyone ever been in this situation before? Does anybody have any advice as to what I can do next so I can ease the stress a little bit?

You need to write, by snail mail, recorded, direct to the IP to ask what the current situation is. Personally, at this stage at least, I would not refer to past changes but would mention the lack of communication on their part ... merely state that you believe you have made the last payment and what happens next ? In light of previous non-communication from them state that you would expect a meaningful response within. say 21 days before escalating to a complaint.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Thank you for the reply.

I will get on to writing the letter and sending it out now.

What would your advice be in regards to the standing order? As mentioned, it expired after my final payment and don't want to have the hassle of being accused of failed payments and at the same time, don't want to set it back up and over pay if I don't have to.

Be firm in your letter but not too confrontational :-)
The IVA will not fail until three payments are missed. I would stop the S.O, but hang on to the money in the account, in case you need to play any catch up. I think it is far easier to pay in a missed payment than to recover an overpayment, especially with a firm with their communications record !

Hi Backpack

We find ourselves in a very similar situation with our final (hopefully) payment being October this year. We too were with Melanie Giles and then just passed over to Creditfix without prior warning or anything. We have also had the same problems re communication and have received no e mails letters or anything either from Creditfix...we have just continually made our payments without fail....can you keep in touch and let me know how you progress. All the very best to you.

Hi Joanne,

I finally got through to someone today! They didn’t really give me too much information though. Just that I actually had one more payment to make and I didn’t have to do anything. They will APPARENTLY be in touch with the creditors after the final payment and I should receive my certificate in no more than 8 weeks from the end of May.

It all sounds great but I’m not confident it will go as smoothly as they say.

I genuinely can’t believe how bad their communication has been. No emails, no letters, no calls and when I call them, I either get no answer or told someone will call back and they don’t.

Glad I stumbled across this!
We were also with Melanie and moved over to Creditfix.
We have received communication from cF when they have needed to be in touch ie at review time but only by means of a standardletter with a photocopied signanture.
It would appear we have been transferred from one IP to another without being informed.
We have had no need to be in touch with CF so like you, have just maintained our S.O. We have 2 more payments to make and I was also unsure what to do howeevr have the same feeling as Foggy in that it will be 'easier' to pay extra than to reclaim over payment! So I will stop the SO after the 60th payment and wait for CC!!!
Good luck and congratulations in completing your IVA!
